Terms of use
Last updated: November 1, 2026
This agreement is between you and the maker of Too Many Hands, a sole proprietor in Alberta, Canada ("we" or "us"). It covers the Too Many Hands app and the Too Many Hands Pro DLC (together "the app"). By installing or using the app you agree to it. Don't use the app if you don't agree to it.
1. What the app does
Too Many Hands lets a host stream one game window to friends and give them control of chosen keys and mouse functions. To do this the app:
- runs a low-level keyboard and mouse hook on the host's PC while hosting
- loads a small input filter (a DLL) into the shared game to block keys the host has given away. It turns this filter off in games where it detects anti-cheat.
- connects to our matchmaking server and to a relay server when a direct connection fails
Our privacy policy at https://toomanyhands.app explains what data this involves.
2. Your license
We give you a personal license to install and use the app on PCs you own or control. The license is non-exclusive and you can't transfer it. You may stream and record your sessions and post them anywhere, including on channels that earn money.
The app is free. Buying Pro through Steam unlocks Pro features on your Steam account for as long as you own it. Steam handles all purchases and refunds under the Steam Subscriber Agreement and Steam's refund policy.
We own the app. This license doesn't give you any other rights to it.
3. What you may not do
- Reverse engineer, decompile or modify the app to get around the free limits, the Pro check or any other limit. This doesn't apply where the law gives you a right to do it.
- Use the app to cheat or to get an unfair advantage in ranked or competitive play.
- Use the app to control a game or PC without the owner's consent.
- Attack, overload or misuse our servers.
- Sell, rent or share copies of the app outside Steam.
- Use the app to break any law.
4. You are responsible for your games
The host is responsible for following the terms of each game and platform they share. Some games don't allow third-party input tools. Some don't allow account sharing or letting other people control your character. Check each game's rules before you play.
5. Anti-cheat and game bans
Anti-cheat software may block the app or parts of it. Valorant, games played through FACEIT and many games with Easy Anti-Cheat won't fully work. In those games the host's own keys may not be blocked and friends' input may not reach the game.
A game company may warn, suspend or ban an account because of the app. We don't control that and we are not responsible for it. We don't give refunds or compensation for bans, lost game items or lost progress. Any refund of Pro is up to Steam under its own policy.
6. Changes to the app and the service
We may update the app, change features or change the free limits. The app needs our servers to connect players. If we ever shut those servers down we'll try to give notice in the app and on our website.
7. No warranty
The app is provided "as is" and "as available". We don't promise it will work with every game, PC or network, or that it will be free of bugs or interruptions. To the extent the law allows we disclaim all warranties, including any warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
8. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages. That includes lost data, lost game items, account bans, lost profits and damage to your PC.
Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for Pro in the 12 months before the claim, or US$10 if you paid nothing.
Some places don't allow these limits. If you live in one of them some of this section may not apply to you.
9. Termination
You can end this agreement at any time by uninstalling the app. It ends on its own if you break it. We may then block your Steam account from our servers. Sections 4, 5, 7, 8 and 10 still apply after it ends.
10. Governing law
The laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada that apply there govern this agreement, without regard to conflict of law rules. Any dispute goes to the courts of Alberta. If you live in a country whose consumer laws give you more rights those rights still apply.
11. Third-party parts
The app includes open source software. Each part is under its own license and the licenses ship with the app. Your use of Steam is governed by Valve's terms.
12. Changes to this agreement
We may update this agreement. We'll post the new version on our website and show a notice in the app. If you keep using the app after that you accept the new version.
